June 2008 Event: Kids MTB at Howarth Park 6/11/08 What better way to get a chuckle than to watch and photograph kids ages 4 - 12 learn the art of mountain biking. Testing their skills riding around cones, over a teeter-toter and finally riding a very narrow plank in addition to a question and answer period. The session ended with a ‘race’ around a trail that looped parts of Camp Watam. The event was conducted by Scott Bowen and attended by Carlos Perez of Bike Monkey, several of the NorCalVelo women and Yuri and Vanessa Hauswald to name just a few. It was a great event not only for the kids, but for the parents too. The next one will be held in July, so keep an eye out, it will be posted on the Bike Monkey website.
