SUMMARY:Red Peloton Team Training Rides - 1st Saturday of Each Month
DESCRIPTION:Thank you to everyone who continues to participate and support one of the best criterium bike race series in Northern California – the Tuesday Night Twilight (TNT) crit series presented by Red Peloton. We have seen our numbers growing steadily and with that\, we’ve had to take a look at our safety plan as well as make some updates to our rules: 1: The Registration area will be moved from its current location to just past the Arch\, in the paved area east of Linwood ave (Finishing Straight). This will reduce the number of riders and pedestrians crossing or riding/walking along the finishing straight during events. This is a safety improvement for all.Additionally\, spectators won’t have to walk so far to watch!Parking will still be in Lot 4\, accessible via Gate 4 on Brookwood. There is a pathway between the parking lot and the registration area. Cyclists and spectators should use this for entering the area. There will be signs added to point this path out. 2: The Finish line will be moved north from its current location to a new location near the restrooms. This is to keep the finish close to registration\, but far enough away from the arch and corner 4 to be safe. We want spectators to have access to watch this area\, without impacting the registration area\, or other riders awaiting the next race. 3: The Podium presentation is important for not only our sponsors and supporters but for our racers. We expect racers to finish their race and IMMEDIATELY get back to the registration area to take the podium pictures. Please use the various pass-throughs to shortcut the remainder of the lap to head back to the registration area for Podium pictures; DO NOT RIDE BACKWARDS ON THE COURSE. You can collect your prizes later\, as we know most folks want to jump into the next race. WIth that being said\, we are implementing a mandatory 5 minute break in between races to ensure that the course is clear and ready for the next race\, and that the podium pictures are complete. If racers do not return in a timely manner for the podium pictures\, the next race will be shortened and will not start until the podium picture has been taken. 4: Directly from Sonoma County Fairgrounds Office: Dogs are not allowed on the grounds outside of the RV dog park\, or Dog specific schools\, trainings and events. We apologize for not keeping up with the fairground rules and communicating this sooner. 5: There will be no more warming up on course during the Mentor/Workout rides\, C or Women’s races. We are now seeing larger numbers of riders and in order to correctly identify racer positions\, prem winners and to prevent confusion/injury and impacts to race outcomes\, we’re stopping on-course warm ups. This is aligned with other sanctioned races.Alternative warm-up locations are being investigated and will be identified at registration before each race night begins. 6: The C and Women’s category racers will be upgraded after racers win 3 races. B racers will be upgraded at the end of the season after 4 or more wins\, or winning the series championships. This will promote closer competition and  tighter grouping of racers abilities. This will also help prevent groups from splintering apart\, which will aid in keeping our races to the designated time allotments. Items of Note: Racers may still contest one category and race up a category as a test of fitness or skill. (i.e. Race the C’s\, and then start with the B’s) It is at the discretion of the head official/announcer if you are to be pulled ahead of the 3-to-go mandatory dropout for those not contesting a race. If you are participating in multiple events\, please only contest prizes for one of the races\, and make sure you drop out of the group with 3-to-go\, so that the racers contesting that specific race are not impacted by your presence. We appreciate your support and continued presence at the TNTs. We couldn’t do this without you! The website has been updated with these new rules and updates.
