As a 501(c)3 organization, Red Peloton gives back to the community through a multiple events and programs. We also work to make it a safer environment for cyclists and residents alike.
1. Bi-annual Trash pick-up/ Adopt-a-road – Sunday March 2nd from 10-11 am.
Crane Canyon Rd. ( one mile stretch of lower road. ) Contact: Kristine Sheerin. Rain reschedules. Second date to coincide with fall picnic.
2. Levi’s Granfondo Aid Station: April 19th.
3. WCC Aid station May 3rd
4. Bike to School Day: May 7th
Need volunteers to man a welcome booth at a elementary school or join a “bike train” that picks up kids at their homes and escorts them safely to their school campus in the morning. List of participating schools available 2 weeks prior to event.
5. Bike to Work Day: May 15th
Volunteer booth location on the corner of St. Point and Joe Rodota trail (near Hwy 12).
6. Tour de Fuzz KOM/QOM challenge: Aug. 30th
As part of an ongoing tradition, in 2023 9 Red Peloton volunteers participated in our Adopt-A-Road trash cleanup on Crane Canyon, cleaning up trash for 1 mile on both sides of from Petaluma Hill road. We collected a total of 11 (eleven!) big bags of garbage, plus extraneous lumber pieces and even an old rusty crushed bike frame!
Another annual activity we support is Catwalk for a Cure. Each year 8-10 members join a variety of groups who provide entertainment and enthusiasm for Sutter Health’s annual cancer fundraiser which also honors survivors.
